New Mazda6 is provided with a full complement of safety measures to keep you in a relaxed, safe frame of mind to the end of the longest run. State-of-the-art active safety systems help you anticipate and avoid hazards, while a comprehensive passive safety package protects you and your passengers should an accident occur. The adaptive front lighting system (AFS) with Bi-Xenon headlamps* is a new feature added to Mazda6's long list of active safety measures that includes dynamic stability control, antilock brake system and brake assist.

The Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System is further uprated− greater reinforcements and wider use of high-tensile steel better absorb impact energy in front, side and rear collisions while maintaining a rigid safety cage around the passenger compartment. Of course, there's a full complement of front, side and curtain airbags, and Mazda6 even features Mazda's first active headrests and to help protect pedestrians, there's an energy-absorbing space between the bonnet and the engine to reduce the risk of head injuries, while the front bumper has energy-absorbing foam in the bumper beam to lessen leg injuries.
